Introduction
The goal of our project for The Garage was to create visuals that would attract more young adults to the outreach church by portraying a welcoming and social atmosphere. We focused on capturing genuine, friendly moments that reflected the church's mission. Drawing inspiration from social media trends, we used storytelling techniques to ensure the content resonated with our target audience. My approach involved a mix of planned and spontaneous work; while I invited subjects to be part of the promotional video narrative, the photography was more about capturing candid moments that naturally conveyed the fun and inviting environment.
The creative vision behind this project was to showcase The Garage as a vibrant and inclusive community, encouraging others to join in and experience it for themselves. The final photos and videos successfully highlighted the energy and spirit of the church, helping to strengthen its outreach efforts and attract new attendees. Through this work, we were able to visually communicate the essence of The Garage, making it a place where young adults would want to be.
Result
Each piece was designed to reflect the core values of the church—community, faith, and inclusion. The locations chosen were significant, representing both the church’s original and expanding outreach efforts. By combining careful direction with an emphasis on creating an inviting look, the visuals were crafted to align perfectly with the church’s mission, and Christian music was incorporated to enhance the emotional connection with the target audience.
The feedback from the church was extremely positive, with the final product receiving high praise. The success of this project is evident in its impact—sparking interest among young adults and encouraging them to become part of the community. This work serves as a testament to how thoughtful visual storytelling can effectively contribute to meaningful outreach.
